Linda Broeder started as a freelance translator in April 2008 to focus on her passion for language and literature. Here you will find more information about her background as a translator, her education and her other relevant work experience.
During her bachelor in Cultural Studies and her master in English language and culture, Linda Broeder specialized in translation. She learned the basic translation techniques, focusing on various text types, but she also discussed the theoretical background of translation studies. She soon discovered she was particularly interested in literary translation. This is what she has focused on, including in her thesis on translating humor. After her studies, it was time to gain more practical experience. Given her preference for literary translation, she chose to start working freelance and build up her own translation practice: Linda Broeder Vertalingen.
